Customer Consumption Data
- CDWeb
In November 2003, BGE developed a new application that provides all
gas and electricity suppliers, brokers, aggregators, and third party consultants with the
capability to access BGE's customer consumption data without
intervention from BGE. This new application called "Customer
Consumption Data Web" also known as "CDWeb" provides all parties with
12 months of gas or electric historical customer data as well as
12 months of electric interval data for any electric accounts that
have interval metering. The data can be displayed immediately or
downloaded into a CSV or XML file normally within 30 minutes of the request.
All users will be required to obtain customer's written authorization
before displaying or retrieving data.
The CDWeb
application can be accessed by clicking on the CDWeb Access on the
left. Note: CDWeb may not function properly on
some Apple Mac machines. In order to access the CDWeb, all users
will need a User ID and password. This will be provided by
Supplier Account Management once the
BGE Customer Consumption Data Reporting Agreement has been executed.

Customer Consumption Data Agreement
Cover
Letter that provides the password. The requestor's User
ID will be e-mailed separately (Email
Sample) for additional security.
Each company will be assigned one User ID and one password for use by
all appropriate personnel within the requestor's company.
Customer Authorization
Before retrieving any type of data, including the
display of data, the requestor must obtain written authorization from
the customer. BGE does not require the requestor to send a copy
of the customer's written authorization to BGE. It is the
requestor's responsibility to keep the customer's written
authorization on file for a period of 12 months as BGE may periodically request proof of the
authorization. Abusers of this policy will have their passwords
removed and will be required to obtain customer consumption data
through written requests to SAM.
Using the CDWeb
Once a
User ID and password have been provided, the requestor should follow
the
CDWeb
Guidelines to learn how to
initiate requests, display data and download files. The CDWeb is
available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. For all requests
that require data to be provided in a file format, the CDWeb user will
be sent an e-mail when the output file is ready. In most cases,
this is within 30 minutes of the request unless there
are a
significantly large number of accounts on the initial request.
For
questions or problems obtaining gas customer data, users should call
the Gas Choice Unit at (410) 291-4833 or for obtaining electric data,
should call SAM at (410) 470-6900.
