EDI Test Plan
The
purpose of EDI Certification Testing is to verify that
electricity
suppliers have
the necessary software and hardware required to send, receive, and
translate standard business transactions mandated by the Public
Service Commissions (PSC) in Maryland. Electricity suppliers must also be
licensed by the PSC and have submitted their registration documents to
BGE's Supplier Account Management (SAM) group before testing can
commence. The
EDI Testing Schedule
is posted on this web site.
Electricity suppliers wishing to participate in a
scheduled test batch must contact SAM at 410-470-6900 or by sending
SAM an email. Electricity suppliers must provide BGE with their
trading partner
profile information via
the GISB EDM Information Worksheet
no
later than 10 business days prior to the start date of the scheduled
test date. Each test batch should take approximately three weeks to
complete.
The
EDI Test Package spreadsheet
is for informational purposes and will allow electricity suppliers to familiarize
themselves with BGE's approach towards EDI testing. It consists of
four tabs that include the following:
-
BGE Testing Accounts - The account numbers
provided are fictitious and applicable for testing within BGE's test
environment only.
-
MD Certification Test Plan - This plan will
include descriptions of enrollment, drop, metering and billing
scenarios.
-
BGE Test Plan - BGE's test plan is organized
into test frames. The
electricity
supplier may not test more than one frame
concurrently. Both the
electricity
supplier and BGE must approve the results of
each testing frame prior to proceeding to the next testing frame.
Both parties must agree to having satisfactorily completed all
frames prior to going live. BGE reserves the right to change the
number of test frames at any time. If a testing frame is not
completed within 4 days due to electricity supplier processing limitations, BGE
reserves the right to drop the electricity supplier from testing.
-
Common Questions & Answers on EDI Testing
Both the
electricity
supplier and BGE must sign-off at testing conclusion indicating that
each party certifies the other party. Each
electricity
supplier will have up to
four weeks to complete EDI testing with BGE. If the
electricity
supplier does
not complete testing within four weeks, BGE reserves the right to drop
the
electricity
supplier from
testing.
